Zoom Teeth Whitening vs. Teeth bleaching?

    Wondering here has anyone had anyone had any experience of either of these teeth whitening procedures? About 6 months ago I got the zoom whitening done, found the effect very good but found that the process didn't last very long.

    I have a special occasion coming up in a few weeks time and am considering getting the teeth bleaching done as a lot more dentists seem to be doing the teeth bleaching more so than the zoom whitening.

    Any opinion regards these procedures?

    Zoom is just a brand name of bleaching. There are three types of bleaching.
    1. At home : bleach is held against the teeth at night in trays.
    2. In office : bleach is held against the teeth for short periods in the dentists, zoom etc. often lights are used (not lasers) but are totally useless and more theatre than anything.
    3 deep bleaching which is a combination of both above.

    Deep bleaching is most effective and longest lasting, next is at home and the least effective is in office only.

    zoom is actually illegal now as the strength of the bleach is above permitted levels. any dentist using it could face a fine of 3k. However, any yahoo who knows nothing about teeth can do it without censure. oh the irony:rolleyes:

    You are incorrect, Zoom bleaching is available in strengths that comply with current regulations.

    Oh no I'm not. Zoom uses strength of 22% carbamide peroxide. Fact. I used to provide it myself when I should've known better. The only effect the light has is to dehydrate teeth making them look temporarily whiter. It's a complete gimmick.

    Perhaps you can quote a scientific study that supports the efficacy of uv light, laser light etc or whatever you're having yourself light.

    I don't know who you are directing this post too, I stated that zoom bleach is available in strengths that comply with current regulations. I never mentioned how successful bleaching is with a blue light.
