    Hey.

I'm a size 18 - 20 and finding it difficult to find trousers that look ok on me, sit well, don't add to the weight problem etc. Any recommendations? I'm especially looking for casual trousers. I'm not that tall (about 5"4) and most places seem to think that if your a size 18 you're also 6 feet!

I know it's a tough one and I'm working on loosing weight but in the meantime, have to dress myself!

I've always found Dorothy Perkins great for jeans and Debenhams great for black trousers to be honest. I'm not the tallest either, but would probably get normal length trousers as opposed to petite...

I've casual black trousers from Marks. They go well with either proper shoes or even just flats and don't make my arse look more huge than it is.

What kind are the ones from Marks? do you know the brand name? well, you know what I mean...the description of them!

I'm 5 foot 4 and size 8 to 10 and find most regular length trousers too long for me (unless I wear heels) so its not just a size issue so I usually go for petite/short length trousers which most stores stock.

What about getting the lenght altered?

Just feel frustrated every time I go shopping - they fit on the tummy and then baggy below the backside!

Marks and Spencer do jeans for different shapes (also in different lengths) They go up to a size 24 I think. That might solve that issue.

Maybe try the Inspire range in New look?

It's all about your diet more than exercise, cut out the junk food and try to eat things like lowfat yoghurts or brown bread when you are carving chocolate or crisps or chips, dont be too hard on yourself, everyone needs a treat every now and again. best of luck with it

+1. Also, check your portion size for your main meals. I bought a book called "Carbs and Cals" on the recent recommendation of my GP - which is basically a food atlas which I keep beside my kitchen scales at all times so that I am more mindful of how much food I am loading onto my plate. It's a simple concept but it works!
So far over 5lb lost in the last month, a healthy rate!

I've trouble with clothes too. I'm shorter than you OP, and a size 12-14. Trousers often have to be altered, a pain... and tops, especially shirts/ blouses, vary wildly in terms of fit for me.
I'd agree with recommendations for New Look.

They're like a jersey material. They've no buttons. Super comfy.

I'm a 20, I get black trousers in New Look and Evans. I find the Evans one brilliant, they can look good for work or for casual wear.
