Peugeot partner van - door open message on radio

Hi all, i am having an issue, well my brother is having a issue with his van.
The rear door closes perfectly, but there is a message on the radio display saying that it is open, when obviously it is not.

The van needs its nct, and this message would mean automatic failure, i believe.

SO my question is, is it the little sensor/push thingy, that is pushed in when the back door is closed, at fault??
Has anyone else had this issue? If so is it easily fixed???

Any help, comments or further questions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Firstly, pretty sure that isn't a fail. Had an A3 go through on an amber engine light. (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056978369)

Its probably the rear push sensor that detects when the door is closed. Carefully examine it. Could be some grit or debris in the mechanism or the electrical contacts could be same. Failing that, if you really wanted to, you could short it out permanently but that depends on the circuit i.e. Contact to body etc.

I have went at it, with contact cleaner, to no avail unfortunately.
I wouldnt imagine they would be an expensive item to replace?
How would i go about shorting it out permanently??

    Thanks
