Shoes for lifting

I prefer to squat and DL wearing only my socks or bare feet. My gym has started clamping down on people not wearing footwear so I now need to get myself a pair of shoes for the gym.

I don't really want to go to the expense and hassle of getting proper platform shoes so I'm looking to get a pair of shoes with a really thin sole.

    Can anyone recommend anything?

    Thanks.

Or the chepaer knock-offs from sportsdirect or Penneys.

Won't last nearly as long but much the same.

Bought a pair of converse type trainers today. If they work out okay, I'll up my budget when they wear out and get something of better quality.
