Got one of these last year when I saw it here on bargain alerts. Probably the only kitchen gadget that I have bought that is used on an almost daily basis. Highly recommended! Buy it at Amazon

Thanks will add that to thread title. Probably better to go for bricks n mortar for such as small difference in price.

700g of chips ain't enough for a family of four, prefer my Actifry which takes a full 1.5kg of frozen chippies

Or you can get the larger model with 1.2kg capacity in Currys for €159.99: http://www.currys.ie/Product/PHILIPS-HD924090-Avance-Airfryer-Black/319663/5.9.2

    Chicken wings

Bang them in for 30 mins or so, lightly seasoned, with a drop or two of olive oil.

Mix franks red hot sauce with a bit of real butter in a pan.

Bring together and enter food heaven

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Great yoke, bought mine in Argos at the start of the year for €115, they've come down a bit in price

Aye, I do chicken wings / drumsticks / thighs all the time. Also home made chips regularly

Great for roasting peppers too! Roast pepper: 10-12 minutes on 200C, without pre-heating. Conventional oven, 20 minutes pre-heating + 45 minutes at 200C for the same result (so takes 5 times as long, probably also uses 5 times as much electricity)

Garlic mushrooms 15 minutes preparation and cooking included

    Lots more!

Frozen Onion Rings 9 -10 minutes! taste as good as they do from the chipper!

Is there any difference in these and the Tefal Actifry range? The Tefal seems to need some oil for cooking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,196 ✭✭✭flyguy

Yes there is a difference. Last BA turned into a long discussion about which one was better without a clear winner IMHO (have neither). Best (cheapest) place to get the actifry is probably still home&cook in Kildare Village.

Bought this today in Currys and they gave a 10 euro voucher valid from Nov 21st so happy enough with that. No sign of a divider like shown in the picture above though.

the divider was included with the manual in a lil plastic baggie when I got mine

Thanks OP got one in Currys today in cork . Got the bigger one, serving 1.2 kg . No sign of voucher for 10 e like other poster though ? Came home starved so it was a bit devastating to discover Chips had to soak for 30 mins !!!!! Son gave up and lashed on deep fat fryer, the rest of us are waiting patiently

Edit ... Chips eaten. Very nice , not quite as tasty as deep fried but better , much better, than oven chips IMO .

We've had one for a few months now, basically anything you can cook in an oven, we've cooked in this. Breaded chicken, breaded fish, sausages, chicken wings, chips, garlic bread etc. You can do more stuff too if you cover the tray in tinfoil too.

No divider in my manual but maybe they don't come with the smaller model. Just had some very tasty sweet potato fries out of it. 30 mins from peeling to mouth!

@ Curly - I spotted it on the currys.ie website and mentioned when purchasing. I would drop back in with a smartphone to show it if you get a chance.
