    Hi all,

Not really too sure what I'm looking for but thought I might tap into the vast experience of this forum.

I currently have a 2003 2.0 TDCI Mondeo for the last two years and that I just got a fresh year NCT on. I am looking to move up a few years and get more for my money. I am tempted to go back to petrol as my work distance has gone down to a twenty minute journey with rare enough weekend trips. I wouldn't mind something with a decent bit of poke in it and decent space as I'm 6"2.

I have been looking at 1.4 Astras, 1.4/1.6 Focus but I have never drove these so I'm not too sure as to how they handle, let alone how the engine is in terms of reliability. I am looking at a car that I will be keeping for the next few years which is why all input is appreciated.
    • Years: 2005 - 2007
    • Reasonable MPG (< 1600cc?)
    • Reasonable mileage (< 100,000M?)
    • Decent power
    • Reliable engine
    • Looks - This comes secondary to performance/reliability but the nicer the better!
    • Location: Leinster region is definitely preferred but would consider a bit further for the right car
    • Budget: €4500

    Thanks everyone.
