You should overclock that cpu if you can. It's quite a few generations old and bf is pretty cpu intensive.

It might struggle at 2.6ghz. I couldn't tell ya for sure though.

Well I can run bf3 on medium with a core 2duo at about 25-30 fps that's with 4 gigs of ram there is YouTube videos out there with the c2q clocked to 3.0ghz and running bf4 beta on medium and it will be better optimized now that its out so im hopeful, just wanted your opinions on it :)

dont want to create separate topic (sorry op) anyone can recommend what parts should i change to get best out of bf4 atm i have e5700 dual core cpu 3ghz.Motherboard is crap asus 40-50 euro worth,my gfx is MSI 560TI twin razor, never clocked. now i know i definitely need ssd drive as current hdd is rubbish and is dying from not having format in over two years, have 4gb of ram cheap ddr3 i think. So cost wise should i try to upgrade my cpu ? or leave it as it is and save up for proper motherboard bundle. thx

Depends what sort of money you are looking to spend. a 50 euro Q6600 would get you by in the game, even a mild overclock on the board would help a lot, and 4gb ram and 560ti are also fine to get you through the game. so if you are just looking to play it, 50-60 euro on a q6600 is all you really need to spend. The E5700 would probably get you through SP, but for online I can't imagine it being up to much on big servers.

as I said I had a c2d and I don't think it will cut it so I picked up a used motherboard another 4 gigs of ram and a core 2 quad q6600 and I will be overclocking that to the last as I only need it to last until summer when I'll be building an i7 rig from scratch and use my current pc as a steam box for the living room

And another question is what kind of load times do you have getting into a match ?

Afterburner cant pull the FPS it seems, so I dont know, but it appears to be doing 60 very stable by eye. No ghosting or tearing or anything.

Only done SP so far. Load times suck big time, but thats just the drive as I dont have the headroom to put all 25GBs on my SSD so its on a bog standard HDD.

Are you running it on low medium settings or what ?

High Preset(what it auto'd to). 1080p with a second 1080p maintaining the windows desktop. GPU is a 7870 at 1050 and that ticks over at 60*C with about 85% usage. Vsync On.

Ok update for you all I have the components installed and I over clocked the CPU to 3.24 GHz and is running stable at about 56 degrees under load and the pc is doing 55-75 fps on high settings and just a slight dip down in fps running on ultra on battlefield 3 so I'm fairly confident I can run bf4 now which I will be getting tonight off of the other half :)

    Edit
and I also did a clean install going to windows 8.1 so I can get the bost in performance
