Confused by statistics

    Hey all,

I have a stats assignment I am struggling with. I have a data sheet with observations for the number of shrews observed in 9 different habitats in two different months. They are the same 9 habitats each time. I need to determine if the population densities are affected by season.

I am unsure what test I should use to determine this. The data is non-normal. (I can add the data if needed) So it needs to be a non-parametric test. I initially thought chi square but I am unsure not if that is right or how to interpret the result.

    Thanks in advance!
