Bike seat prematurely wearing out denim

I have noticed that the constant friction with my bike seat when wearing denim is fading them dramatically. Any solution to that?

I don't have dedicated cycle pants as yet. I'm primarily a denim man. Suppose buying those worn look jeans would somehow sort that problem out.

Hiking trousers wear out a bit less. You might not find the look agrees with you though.

I think there are jeans for cycling, but they're expensive. Narrower saddle sounds a good plan.

The issue is basically just friction between the jeans and saddle, in combination with the jeans being stretched tight over your legs. So anything that reduces the friction will help.. One of my friends put a lubed up condom over my saddle once (serious stretch in those things), it made it delightfully slippery and STD proof - should solve your problem.

On showery days in my work clobber, I have ridden around on dublin bikes without sitting down. It does necessitate breaking the golden db rule and occasionally stopping at a traffic light.
