Feeling guilty......

    Hi guys,
Listen I'm fully aware how childish this sounds but my story goes as follows.....

So on Friday night I happened to come accross an old friend on a night out. So as ye do, she was introduced to are group and spent the remainder of the night with us. She was accompanied by her friend (who I took a fancy to instantly). We were all chattin as a group but then it came to a point where I realized my friend had also taken a fancy to her. So he began to tell me that he liked her and they were getting on pretty well.....so the night ended and she said goodbye to us all and my friend starting saying that he wanted to take her out. So I interfered almost straight away and started to text her no less than 10 mins after we departed and asked her out on a date. She accepted and we have been texting ever since. Only today, he also asked her out. So she basically said that she had already been asked out by me.....my friend is angry(which caught me off guard a little bit as I wasn't expecting such a response)So basically my question is was I a bit of a sly friend? What you do in my situation? Is this just pure childish behavior?

    Any feedback is gravely appreciated.....

You should have told your mate that you liked her before being a sly bastard.

Although, he should have been quicker....slow bastard.

You guys need to kiss and make up, then get the threesome going.

Seriously be a man and grow a pair! Tell him you like her and want to see where things go! You've done the damage to your friendship now so let's hope he forgives you!

But if he's already a man, he already has a pair - do you want him to grow another pair? I don't think the lady would like four balls.

    Although.....

we're back to Fancy Pants' suggestion.

    Hi there Con 1421,

I was that girl, eons ago. I ended up marrying the "sly" one. We didn't even have mobile phones or text back then.

Faint heart never won fair lady so the saying goes.

Not worth getting in a fight with a friend over some girl you barely know.

Your friend should get over it.

Tell him you had asked her out before he told you he fancied her.
You just didn't want to break it to him at the time and were too shocked to tell him after he said he fancied her.

    Easy.

"I like her too man let's see who she's interested in more" that's all it would have took and you'd still have your friend's respect.

    Shame on you OP!
Going behind your friends back and stealing the girl of his dreams!

You should fall on your sword.

You have brought shame on your family, your community and your creed.

Does she have a decent rack though ?

Do you "like" her or love her?
There is a hugh difference here.
Your friend should ask the same question to himself.
Love is something special and not to be given out freely, where as like
is something scribbled in a school journal.
    Hope this helps

Ride her sideways, frontways and backwards, record it. Show it to angry friend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,192 ✭✭✭pharmaton

do you actually fancy her op? I mean if you are into her there's no reason why you should feel bad, if you're only doing it so your friend can't have her tho that's a bit shítsy.

You followed your instinct, though i think texting to go on a date is prob not the best way to do it. Whats wrong with asking a person straight up.

Too bad for your friend, theres no guarantee she would have dated him anyhow.
Time to get over it and for you to get on with it.

Nothing wrong with liking the same person as your friend likes.
Nothing wrong with asking her out on a date even though your friend wanted to.

It's really wrong to try to sneak in there like some oul' biddie running for a checkout in the supermarket, while being encouraging to your friend. Extremely bad form on your part. You're going to have to accept the consequences and try to mend things with your mate.

    Hello...

Have to wonder why this woman decided to tell your friend that you asked her out first...why didn't she just give a different excuse, seems to me that she got a kick out of 2 friends asking her out.
