just a theoretical question about the much maligned family income supplement
we are both public servants with three children my wife wants to take up a degree course in college for 4 years leaves her job on a career break of 9 months and works three months in the Summer continuing like this for that period . I apply for f i s and am granted same fulfilling the criteria but what happens when I am asked for a p 45 to prove she has left employment she will not receive one as she will be on a career break, and will appear live on the system, thoughts please.

    thank you.

It wil be difficult to get a definite income for your wife, they can either use the last few payslips / dole receipts / or her most recent p60. If she submits this that may put you over the threshold.
