Have seen the above on adverts and would love some opinions. He is looking for €600 and I have offered €520. Would this be a good build at this price? It would be run on a 32" LCD tv and would be used for gaming. League of legends and newer games like Battlefield 4. I would eventually change out some parts like the graphics card if needed but at the moment I just need a solid build to give a s a gift that will work for most games.
    Thanks in advance.
    D

This looks like a far better deal. I'd jump on thee asking price asap tbh.

I'd be tempted to buy it myself and sell the parts individually for a profit.

If it's everything as described and pictured it's easily worth €750 second hand.

Unless you're looking for new of course.

I had looked at this but the comments confuse me. Some people had offered €600 and he refused them but still the price is at €550. I will contact him and see what the story is. Thanks for your help. D

I don't think you'd get 750 for that machine. Believe me, I buy and sell enough PC's to know what the market's like at the moment! 550 is a decent price including the monitor alright though, but I don't think you'd get much more.

Poor PSU, and even though it's still an OK performer, the 6870 isn't worth a whole lot these days. I sold a 2500k and 7950 machine recently for 640, and about six months ago, I myself got a Pc on adverts for 800 with haf 922, 1000w psu, gtx 590, 256gb m4 ssd, 1tb drive, 16gb ram, and other bits and pieces with it as well - now that was a case of the sum of its parts being worth more than the asking price!

Not the best time to be a seller of performance PC's, but equally a great time to be a buyer. I buy PC's often enough because the sum of the parts is more than the asking - as in, you might buy a PC with an SSD and/or a decent card for 600, replace the SSD with a normal sata drive and the card with a more budget model (like a 7870 with a 6870), and still be able to sell it on for close enough to what you paid for it - and it means you get an extremely cheap SSD or card out of it, effectively.

I know. I had a laugh at that myself. Just chancing his arm or actually considering that someone would swap????
Wish I could extract the knowledge from your head on these things TerrorFirmer. I'm lost. It's so hard to get my head around which aspects of a build are good and which are bad........

Absolutely, if it is 550 he's looking for. Lot of confusion on the ad though, he's stated 550, but refusing offers of 600+, and somewhere else he said he's looking for 850.

You do see an awful amount of rubbish up there at inflated prices. It really annoys me that people get caught out all the time, and end up shelling out big money for junk PC's that struggle through any new game, but are covered in tacky blue LEDS.

This is a really interesting one I saw yesterday. Yes, it's old and outdated, but it's interesting to see something that would have cost well over a grand a few years ago selling for 275 euro. It's a watercooled setup. If I was near I'd definitely buy it for the laugh, and there's a large amount of that overall value in some of the parts - the case, corsair psu, the x-fi, the monitor. And the core of the machine, with a new card, and some overclocking, might even surprise you.

If your budget is 550-600, start a new thread - bloodbath has tons of builds done in that price range that in all honesty would be as fast as that PC with the uncertain price tag.

And to be fair, that PC in question is a decent PC, if he'd accept around that ballpark figure. Didn't mean to imply it wasn't at that price.

This is a great build someone listed recently on another thread around the 500 ballpark. Really good performer at the price. Does need a monitor though, but on the plus side, everything is brand new and under warranty, and monitors can easily be picked up on adverts for decent monitor, if you're looking to keep the whole thing about the 600 mark.

Lol I bought a similar case to that for my previous build. The thermaltake armor lcs in black. A steal for €50. He even threw in a second 240mm rad, a second pump, an lcd fan controller and temp sensor and 2 spare waterblocks + tubing and coolant.

I ended up selling the lot on 3 years later for near €100. I kept the display :)
