I would say your best bet would be to contact the Dublin marathon office, I'm sure they have records. Maybe leave it a few weeks they'll be very busy for a while I'd say.

    Hi Ian,

I sent an enquiry to the following address two years ago for my dads results on the same year as your own. You actually just finished ahead of him by a few seconds :)

The email address I got for this is:

    bhaa@eircom.net

They were really helpful, I dealt with a woman called Carol and she made up a certificate of my dads time for him. She was keeping an archive of the records back then.

    Good luck!

Good luck today, sorry to hear about your brother. Do him proud and don't get too caught caught up on your race time.

    Send an email to office@dublinmarathon.ie
Carol will sort it for you when she gets a chance.

Did 1981 as an 18 year old but substantially slower - 4:09 or so I think. Innocent days! First marathon and had no idea at all of what to expect. Old timex wrist watch (not digital) and an old pair of runners ...... Sorry to hear about your brother. If you get a full results transcript, would love a copy if you can. Warm regards. Barry
