Carbon pads on aluminum rims?

I have an old Raleigh racer that I use for commuting and pottering around town. I was just wondering if I can use carbon pads on aluminium rims or would that be an issue? I've just been offered some carbon pads that would look really nice and am wondering if they'd be okay.

There are pretty strident with the warnings on the packaging that Carbon specific pads should not be used on non carbon rims.

AFAIK carbon pads don't work very well on alu rims.

Hum, not the best idea then.

These are actually the set I've been offered.

If I bought standard 52mm replacement cartridges, for alloy rims, I could swap them out right?

Yea, that's what I thought at first but in the q&a section it says that they're for use on carbon surfaces.

Would a pair of these fit in the holders? Am I right in thinking that the black are regular pads and the green are for ceramic rims? That seems to be the case from the purchase options; to me anyway.

Depends what brakes you have. Swisstop pads are great - green ones are good in all weather, black good too (both for alu rims).

swimcyclerun have the swissstop green & black on special offer at the moment. Just got the green ones myself, supposed to be better in the wet but not as long wearing as the black.
