After 2 weeks of Heineken Cup, we return to Pro12 action and the top 2 face off each against each other in this clash in Scotstoun. Both teams picked up 5 points from their 2 opening matches in Europe.

Both sides have made some changes to their starting XV, but have nevertheless named strong sides.

For Glasgow, playmaker Nikola Matawalu is only named on the bench, as is Ruaridh Jackson, but in their place Duncan Weir and Chris Cusiter are still a reliable half-back partnership. The back 3 of Maitland, Seymour and Van Der Merwe can do serious damage and a pack containing Grant, Low, Harley and Strauss is not to be underestimated. At home, they will certainly believe they can continue their 100% start to the season.

As for Munster, they have named a very interesting, one which fans have hope for. In the absence of Simon Zebo, Denis Hurley and now Keith Earls- Andrew Conway and Ronan O'Mahony come into the starting team after impressing for the A side, and they will accompany the in-form Johne Murphy. Earls was supposed to start at outside centre, but his late injury means Casey Laulala will return to the starting team, with Cian Bohane taking up a spot on the bench.
A strong looking backline is capped off by Conor Murray partnering JJ Hanrahan, Ian Keatley now given a rest and interestingly, it would seem that Murray is acting as 10 cover, as two centres are named on the bench.
In the pack, Stander gets a start at 8, captain O'Mahony reverst to 6 while the experienced lock pairing of O'Connell and O'Callaghan remains in place while the front row from the Gloucester game is completely changed.

Some may argue that this pack is stronger than the one that played last weekend, and it is an exciting-looking team in general.

Glasgow are a very formidable opponent, and Munster will be disappointed with their performances in Europe. Perhaps an injection of youth, in addition to the likes of Cronin and Stander may give them the boost they need to really raise their game. It should be an interesting game.

Sloppy so far. I didn't really get a good look but I thought the first penalty was a bit harsh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

3-0 down, could have been 6. Already given away a few stupid penalties, need to settle.

What was the call on that last lineout, no one even almost challenged for it... in a great position too.

    Nice from Conway.

Nice break from Conway, woeful from Murray. So obvious he was going to take that on himself

What the duck was that penalty for?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,221 ✭✭✭Ugo Monye spacecraft experience

We look like a side that is badly coached.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

We're getting a bit of battering so far, they're very physical, very well-organised.

What the duck was that penalty for?

Holding on, flanker was completely on the wrong side, terrible from Davies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Not much opportunity for our chasers to get on the end of the kicks so far.

Mad it's only 3 pts can see halfback subs causing damage for Glasgow in 2nd half

We look like a side that is badly coached.

I'd say we look like a team missing 5 or 6 of our spine players

We looked like a badly coached side with those players in the team last weekend and the weekend before

We've been battered in every scum. CJ is doing a good job with horrible ball

Sherry is having a nightmare all over the park

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Good defence there in the end.....bit passive at first. But scrums are no good for us if we're going to get crushed every time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,632 ✭✭✭ssaye2

    Scrum destroyed ath

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

They're actually running backward in the scrum.

The difference is huge, as soon as the ball goes in and Glasgow put in the shove the Munster scrum folds like a deckchair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,534 ✭✭✭sioda

    Scrums are awful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

And there we go... they knock the ball on, they get 3 points.

Not forward and a late hit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Now that it's their scrum... this could be very bad.

    I thought it was.

I was looking at the lines/different shades of green of the grass and it looked like he passed it forward on them.

Ref said so...he's given Weirba warning about questioning his decisions....odds on Munster to get the first yellow so!
