    Hello people

I am very confused and feel so useless with paye online system and I need your help :D

I have been 3 years in the same company (PAYE employee), therefore 3 p60's. All of them came with the balance of me paying to revenue avg about more or less 600eur. Never getting paid from them. I had some receipts for doctors back in 2011 and i thought i would claim them.

I filled in those colorful boxes, green ones for PAYE and Personal Tax Credit with 1650eur each and just about 71eur for medical expenses.
    All in all (1650eurx2)+71eur.
Two days later I got the PAYE BALANCING STATEMENT (P21) FOR THE TAX YEAR and it claims I owe 345.60eur.

    Charged as follows

    21,171.00 my yearly pay @ 20 % = 4,234.20 --> tax due

tax credits 3,314.20 ----> I presume paye 1650 + personal credit 1650 + whatever they give me for doctors (14.20eur)

taxes deducted 574.40 ---> those appear on my P60

    tax credits + tax deducted = 3,888.60

Therefore it is telling me 4,234.20 - 3,888.60= 345.60 eur

However on the top of my P60 says TAX CREDIT 3660eur. Where do they come from? if I only can work out PAYE + single tax is 3300? what's the 360 difference?

If i use this number instead of 3300 then I get 0 eur to owe to revenue, but i need to know whats the remaing 360 so I can write it on the online form and balance the whole mess.

My payslip states tax credit= 305

I would like to request a P21 but I am affraid will show again that i wrongly owe that money.

Any help is really appreciated :-)

Were you claiming rent relief tax credit in 2011? -- you might have removed it when you updated your credits

    this would have been 1600 @20% = 320

were you claiming any flat rate expenses? in 2011

Does P21 say you have PAYE underpayment of €345.60 ?

You can ask tax office or your employer for a copy of your tax credit showing €3660 , and this will show you the extra tax credits you have received that are not on your paye-anytime

    Hello guys,

@ citizenpain: I didnt claim any rent relief, but I am not sure if it is automatically done since i was living in the same address (rented) from 2008 to 2013. However if I do it online i need to register and fill in a form and ask previous landlord pps and i dont feel like going around asking. If that was it would come 320 but i still would be 40eur short of my tax credit...
No i didnt claim any flat rate expenses.

@ all the doyles: as p21 you mean the one has been automatically generated by the computer after my inputs? because if that is the one then it is wrong. And yes it does say underpayment. Im not sure if trying to do that for 2012 without claiming anything, but i guess it would be worse. Just to see what does it comes like.

My payroll employee showed me my chart from paye system and it showed 1650 in a box another 1650 in another and 305 in another. Still i felt kind of puzzled. I guess what is best is going to the office with my p60 in hand.

@mr incognito: i didnt type in anything for 2010, even though 2010 it was 1830 paye and tax credit and this sum together comes to 3660 which makes more sense...

Thanks guys for your replies, still im confused. I'll go Tuesday to the tax office and hopefully the wont say me i need to call, i prefer face to face. Any idea if i can go to the office in O Connell or I have to go in my district?

All the best and happy weekend
