Thanks for moving this to the right place,

    Hi Captain

It's the land line, I have in the last hour contacted eircom via their site chat line, the first operator went missing for 15 or so minutes leaving a message saying "don't send your question until an operator contacts me) so I gave up on that and tried for a fresh one When I asked the same question to the new operator he took awhile to get back to me and wrote

"I will need to check your account before we can resolve the problem, unfortunately the system is down at the moment but should be back within the hour so contact us again then"

I ask you... how is he going to be able to help me if he cant get his own system to work :-)

if you're on the old dsl with 3mb and 7mb speeds they don't charge anyhow

    ....one of the few perks

i think they do when you're upgraded to NGB the 8mb

This sounds good Tom but I remember a year or so ago I had to pay extra for going over by very little, and yes I'm still on the old dsl so I might be lucky, Thanks for cheering me up a little

    Hi Colm

The €2 you mention is a lot less than what sprang to mind when I realized how much I had used,

thanks to all of you for the replies, it has eased my mind knowing I'm not going to have to sell one of the kids to pay off the bill :)

What started it all off is watching 5 seasons of (Breaking bad) on Netflix, it took me 4 days to see them all while I stayed in bed with my Manflu
has to be the best series I have ever watched,
its like a book that you just cant put down, I highly recommend it as long as you have unlimited broadband

It used to be €10 per gb on non NBG products (1/3/7mb) but there was a €25 cap for excess charges.

if your usage bill for sept is high call eircom... a system glitch between 13 - 15th sept caused this... if you have been affected by the glitch eircom will refund it on your next bill

    Hi folks,

just thought I would give an update on this, just got the bill and I'm pleased to say they didn't charge me for the extra usage,

+ they sent me a new router and a couple of them splitter thingy's for the phone to see if they get rid of the crackling noise on my line "They didn't" but that's another story.

Thanks again for your help with this.

The crackling noise is a voice fault which eircom are obliged to fix if you report and complain about it. The only problem is that you might have to wait longer than usual for a repair after the recent bad weather.
