Spotted this on Sky News, appears jerky treats have been responsible for a lot of dog deaths over the pond. Chances of getting the same stuff over here may not be that high but all the same, with a lot of people internet buying now

Pet owners in the US are being warned to be cautious about giving their dogs jerky treats after the deaths of nearly 600 canines and 3,000 others becoming ill.

Health officials say the cases - dating as far back as 2007 - may be related to eating the foods which are sold as jerky tenders or strips made of chicken, duck, sweet potatoes and/or dried fruit.
