ASUS have released a VDSL/ADSL Router, wonder if it will be compatible with Eircom efibre
    https://www.asus.com/Networking/DSLN66U/#overview

One drawback is that it doesn't seem to support wireless AC

If You can create vlan on wan/vdsl/adsl interface you will be able to use with efibre.
Can you please tell me why You will need AC wireless?

make sure this modem supports vectoring... otherwise you are wasting money. when eircom enable vectoring next year any vdsl2 modem not able to support vectoring will be blocked cos they will bring down a cabinet.

I just bought this and can't get it to work. Changed firmware by downloading from f1000. But the Asus keeps rebooting and not getting a sync.

    Anybody got there's working?

Check the logs to see what's causing the reboot.

Does it attempt to sync? Do you see the dsl light blink?

What do you mean by changed firmware by downloading from f1000!!! Are you trying to use it with efibre ie vdsl or adsl?

and who are you with? ie VF, or eircom?

Download the latest firmware from ASUS and then a factory reset. This means you will have to start the setup again from the start but is the safest way after updating the firmware.
