Does anyone know what setting to use on the TSC114 to stop it searching for channels itself and adding them to my channel list and messing up all my saved channels - so frustrating!!:confused::confused::confused:

Turn off lcn and active antenna...however make a backup of your channels first or use my channel list that I posted earlier as once you do it will blank out all your channels and you will need to re-do them with your backed up list.

How would those settings have any bearing on the box doing an auto search in standby?

Are you serious?! 'Active antenna' just switches on/off a 5 VDC power supply for an amplifier.

yes ur rite 2 but it also makes some boxes to continuously scan for missing channels etc...but I would imagine its the lcn switched on that more than likely his cause...

This box really drives me insane.

The active antennae is off by default, I've set the lcn to off. I have no "Auto Search in Standby" option in my settings.

I have retuned all the channels again and just set the first few satellite ones up where I want them as a test, guess what they're all mixed up again. No matter what I do with the settings it keeps updating the channel list.

Under "installation" and the installation type of the terrestrial channels (DVB-T) I only have the option for LCN on/off but not under the DVB-S or all options.

I really think I got some kind of a dud box (from DID:() because I consider myself reasonably tech-savy but I just can't get a handle on this thing at all. Just as well I don't use it that often it seems to make me want to watch ITV2 all the time.

Does anyone know where I can download a software upgrade in case that is the issue.

Scroll down to information and check version

Build date should be 01/18/2013 if not download and upgrade using the first file here...second is a channel list ive done you just need to ad your own terrestrial channels afterwards...switch off lcn once upgrade is done.

What options do appear in your 'Setting' menu?

Ok Peter - I wasn't able to get either of your links to work (file requested does not exist). Anyway in the meantime I found this link http://www.daltontv.ie/2013/10/new-channel-line-up-and-new-firmware-for-triax-tsc114/ and I downloaded the firmware (05/31/2013) and the channel list. I then installed the terrestrial channels. I presume I can delete the duplicates of those and any that duplicate with the installed channel list and I wont mess stuff up?

The options in my settings menu (after the update) are Timers/Child Lock/Date Time/Ethernet Config/Factory Reset/Upgrade/Auto Standby

That's nonsense: 'active antenna' is a power supply for an amplifier & that is all. LCN (Logical Channel Number) simply arranges services in the order the broadcaster intends: nothing whatsoever to do with auto scanning.

What channels are being found & added to your list anyway?

It was adding satellite channels (BBCs) but I think what was happening was it was re-ordering the UK channels that came in on saorview in front of the satellite channels.

I've updated everything now, put the channels in the order I want. I'm going to leave the box on overnight and see has anything changed by morning (hopefully not)

    Thanks for all your help

There are no UK channels on Saorview: you must be picking up UK Freeview from a transmitter in NI or Wales.

Just delete them. Doesn't seem to be much you can do with this box to stop them coming back though, if it is actually looking for channels in standby & they haven't just been there since you performed your intended scan for Saorview.

You would need a filter on the aerial lead to block unwanted frequencies.

Yeah I do delete the NI channels because I'd prefer the HD version of the UK channels & don't really want the NI channels.

Ok after nearly 24 everything seems to be pretty much as it should be. The only complaint I have is that no matter what way I rearrange stuff the Saorview 8 always want to appear in the first 8 places (why do I want a kids channel that's not on most of the day in my first few channels) but hey its liveable with if everything else remains where I left it.
