I got a gift for someone who was leaving a place i worked in, we all chipped in and I got caught to put an extra tenner in as we were short. Gave it to him, he seemed disappointed, we all went out on a goodbye night, all got drunk, i noticed he left the gift behind when we went to the club so I stole it back because his disregard annoyed me.

The only thing I ever stole and I have no regrets!

Was an Olympic standard shoplifter as a kid and well into my late teens.

Was more about the buzz but the stuff came in handy too.

Don't know hoe I got away with it when I look back.

Not much really, I'm a relatively honest person really... sweets from a shop when I was a kid (we all did that!), stuff from the gift shop at Mosney for a dare on a school trip when I was a teenager, assorted office supplies from work (who doesn't?), and I have a couple of Gilmore Girls boxset DVDs that belong to a friend I fell out with last year (didn't mean to keep them, I only realised I still had them about 6 months after we fell out and didn't have her new mobile or address to give them back and I'm sure she still has stuff belonging to me), oh yeah and one night I came home from a night out with someone else's camera in my bag completely clueless as to how it got there (I didn't steal it honest!). Found out a few days later one of the girls I was out with put it in my bag thinking it was mine (I have a camera same colour, different model). I did try to find the owner on facebook though with no success.

I'm almost certain I've never stolen anything. I succumb to a guilty conscience quite easily.

Once I stole my friend's car when I was at his house (he wasn't there). I had it for a while. My family members wondered where I got it from but I didn't tell them. I felt guilty after a while. I decided to ditch it near my friend's house.
This was when I was 5. I will never steal a toy car again.

I stole a fancy Christmas bauble and a rake of jewellery from Anthony Ryan's in Galway when I was about six - I was an advanced child let's say. Mother marched me back in & made me apologize to the lovely sales lady AND give all the stuff back.

Also nicked a cookie or 2 from the M&S bakery as a rebel (mainly hungry) teenager. And once ate a pack of Minstrels while doing a grocery shop that I subsequently 'forgot' to pay for.

Whilst I have never shoplifted, I have received incorrect change (like say a tenner extra), noticed it but said nothing and kept it. Does that count?

That was when I was younger. Nowadays I'd return it. I know, I'm a spa.

Tried shoplifting hairclips when I was about 10. My mother was in the shop at the time. Was delighted with myself until I got home. She shook me down until all my loot surrounded me. Was marched back in the next morning with a box of chocolates and an apology. I was mortified and terrified as she told me my father would deal with me when I got home. Thankfully when he saw my white little face he said nothing. Still the shame of letting them down stayed with me for ages.

So I learnt early on that I was not cut out for lawbreaking.

Sigh. Years ago I stole £10 out of my mother's purse to buy something (can't even remember what it was now, I was about 11).

I know she noticed it but she never said anything at the time. It's been 17 years now.. I might tell her at Christmas just to get it off my chest!!

Oh and I stole chocolate cigarettes from the pound shop when I was a teenager.

And have also stolen a few beer glasses from various pubs over the years.. never considered that stealing for some reason, but of course it is.
