Driving lessons.

I'm currently an engineering graduate and have applied abroad for various positions. I assume one thing a lot of companies will look for is a full driving licence. With that in mind I'm going to get the 12 necessary driving lessons and then do my test. I know on the RSA website it states that a gap of 2 weeks is recommended between each lesson but is there anyway of doing the lessons in blocks? As in, could I do more than 2 a week?

You can do all twelve within two weeks if you wanted. The gap between lessons is completely your choice. You do need to hold the learner permit for six months before the test though. Do you already have your permit (provisional licence)?

I meant to ask in the original post but forgot to. Is there a certain amount of time I've to wait between finishing the driving lessons and taking the test? For instance could I book my test now and have completed the lessons by the time I take the test or do I have to complete the lessons before even applying for the test?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm confused enough as it is with the new method of renewing a provisional which starts Tuesday.

Waiting times for tests aren't as long as they used to be. Typically ten weeks now. You can apply, but won't be offered a test date until your EDT lessons are done and uploaded.

Is there a way of speeding the waiting time up? I think I read read somewhere that you can but I'm not 100%.

Yes. You can go on a cancellation list. That will take less time. But you still need to have all your EDT lessons uploaded. Have you started your lessons yet?

No not yet. I have to renew my learner permit but missed the 25th cut off and now have to wait until the 29th to renew it at the new NDLS centres. As soon as I get it i'll start the EDT lessons.

You could apply for your test now and as soon as you're finished EDT ring RSA and take 1st available slot

Figured no need to open a new thread and I'd just throw my query here.
Basically do I need my provisional license in order to take some driving lessons? (my orginal provisional expired in 10 and I just ended up putting driving on the long thumb, have to go get it renewed)
