    Mornin all,

As per the title I am looking for a new (to me) car, my Saxo finally packed in yesterday. I will have a budget of around €8000 and was considering a Mazda 3 or Ford Focus, I don't do a huge amount of mileage, mainly city driving but would not do enough for a diesel.

I would like a hatchback, something from 2008 on in and around the same size as the two mentioned and have my eye on these two:
    Mazda 3
    Focus

I have heard that the 1.4 focus is underpowered but would that make such a difference in city driving? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as the bus near kililed me this morning

    Thanks in advance

Start off by driving the two of them, and as wide a range of other possibilities as possible too. You might be surprised at what you do/don't like.

Thanks, I have driven that model Mazda before and a number of Fords (Mondeo & Fiesta, previous models of the Focus) and they were nice to drive, the Fords especially were very comfortable
