Should I go back on dockets?

    Hi there.

Hopefully I can get some light shed on this problem!

I closed my claim about 3 weeks ago. A sick leave position opened up so I informed social welfare that I'd secured a bit of work. They said they'll close my claim in around 4-5 weeks and afterwards I would need to re-apply.

However, as is the nature of sick leave, I'm worried that the person I'm covering for might suddenly or earlier than presumed, come back to work and I'm goosed!

I'm under 25. If I open a new claim in the New Year, does this mean I have a reduced rate for my claim?

So my question is, should I go back to the social welfare, ask to be put on the working dockets system. Will my claim be seen as open, and when the temp. work dries up I'll still retain my orignal claim amount?

    Thank you in advance.
