11years ago I went to the gardai over a matter, it was sent to DPP and see the back due to lack of evidence. This was appealled by the detective and once more refused on lack of evidence.

This is something I want to revisit now I have strength and am in my twenties and have the coping mechanisms around it. However is there anywhere to go from here or is it case closed?

It's not a small matter and not something there would be evidence for as such. Hence the difficulty.

I'm not looking for legal advice just guidance in if there are any other steps I could take

I'm making an assumption that this is a sexual case, I've seen cases sucessfully prosecuted that date back as far as the sixties, although they were corroborated.

For what it's worth (which isn't much from me I'm not a practisioner) I'd go for it. If the Gardai aren't able to help (I suspect they will though) there are other options available. Take proper advice on the matter, either through a solicitor or any organiasation that may be able to help.

I wish you the best of luck. Sorry if I've got the wires crossed.

(also sorry for the spelling I'm at work)

Complete and utter guesswork on my part but I suspect the guards and DPP might be more willing to persue things now than they were 11 years ago.
