Amazon won't deliver perfume to Parcel Motel

I have just been trying to order a couple of bottles of perfume which are on special from Amazon. I know that they do not deliver to Republic of Ireland but they will not even deliver to my Parcel Motel address.

Does anybody know why this is or any way around it?

It probably would be going airmail to belfast, so may not be allowed on planes.

You might also be liable for excise duty, not that this should worry amazon, but bear it in mind with parcel motel, not sure of their own rules.

Thank you for your reply rubadub

I thought that because Parcel Motel's address was a UK address in Newry that Amazon would deliver. I always get items sent from Amazon and Ebay to the Parcel Motel address when the seller does not deliver to Rep of Ireland. This is the first time I have ever had any problem. Usually Amazon just views it as a UK address.

Note: The following items can be delivered to addresses within the UK only:
    Medicines and pharmaceuticals.
All baby food, milk and drinks.
Blank media items, such as blank CDs and DVDs .
    Perfumes (mainland UK only).
High value jewellery and watches (mainland UK only).
Light bulbs can't be delivered to the Republic of Ireland.

Probably due to the OTT "security theatre" the postal systems have, if that single terrorist had made a bomb of powder rather than liquid, then perfume would probably be fine now, but powdery makeup -no way.
