Has the dole collection day been changed to Fridays?

    My brother went to collect his payment at the post office this morning and it wasn't there and was told the day was moved from Monday to Friday.

    He was never told. Was anyone else informed of the change of payment day?

    I don't get mine on a Monday. I get mine on a Wednesday.
    I never heard of that. Maybe he got a letter about it but it wasn't delivered yet.

    I thought Tuesday was 'dole' day. Anytime I'm in the post-office on a Tuesday it's full of people collecting dole with the card.

    How do they know what day you collect your dole?

    I hate the word Dole! :pac: Jobseeker's Benefit (hate the word benefit too!) or Jobseeker's Allowance. Out of curiosity which of the 2 is he getting may I ask? I think I remember somebody saying here recently that all the different Social Welfare payments are issued separately / individually on different days of the week.... Never actually knew that never really thought about how all the different Payments would be organized! but I suppose there would need to be some order put to things! I suppose they'd have to try and arrange slots for all the different Payments in some way to make sure all are catered for.

    He gets Jobseekers Allowance, has the swipe card thing €188. His day used to always be Tuesday but it used to be 'in' on Mondays and he had like a 3 day collection period or something before it was sent back.

    I get Casual JA in a cheque that arrived in the post every Tuesday or Wednesday if it's a bank holiday week.

    I'm think you meant "how do they know"?

    If so: the welfare tells you when. I think there are different days for different stuff. I think Thursday is child allowance day?

    Jobseekers allowance has been spread all over the shop. A friend of mine gets his Monday. His sister Tuesday. Myself Wednesday.

    If you mean in the post office: afaik they just type in your PPS number and the system shows if you're to be given money or not.

    I went in last Friday and got double my dole payment and it said up until Tuesday 29th. Does this mean when I go in tomorrow that there'll be none there?
    Did this happen to anyone else last week?

    What day do you normally get yours on?hubby gets his on a Monday but got his last Saturday for this week as Monday was a bank holiday so we get none till Monday coming. I assume this is what happened you,so I doubt you'll have any tomorrow
