    hi guys
heading to usa soon and might pick myself up an acoustic. I used to play a small bit as a teenager, but just know the fee basic chords. As i have small hands, with pretty stubby fingers, id really like something that is as easy as possible to play. I will pay up to usd 1000, (buy once buy right).

i am into all types of music, christy Moore, johnny cash, Beatles, beach boys..

so what would you recommend i buy?

if Electric I'd say an American telecaster
(as used by every band you listed! well on some stuff at least)

I always found Taylors had the easiest acoustic necks to play (I've got small hands too) some of the GS models are nice.my mate had a 314k Koa model that was lovely!

After years of horse trading though I've settled on Gibson acoustics for me personally,
    I just love the sound!

There are three brands of American acoustic (in your price bracket....used anyway)

    Taylor, Martin & Gibson.

Martin & Gibson have a LOT more history and heritage, but they've both had periods in their history when build quality slipped.

I've never heard of a bad taylor!

Of the 3 I find the Gibson the least playable

Id go either Gibson or Martin (I have a J45 myself and it is amazing).

I also have a Taylor, its a good guitar but i dont like as much as the others.

Try a few out when you are there, everybody will find different guitars different both in terms of how they bit your body and hands and how they feel.
