Grass fed meats....where?

    Where can i buy them from guys? Supermarkets, butchers, specialist shops, i don't mind. I've never looked out for it before but i am going to start.
    If anyone can point me in the right direction, id appreciate it.

    I'd go so far as to say all of it is, with some supplementary grain feed for cattle in the winter.

    Talk to your local craft butcher. He will be able to tell you all about the meat he is selling i.e. Where it came from and how it was fed. As others have said I was always under the impression that Irish beef and lamb was grass fed.

    Thanks a lot for all your comments. I read a little and most people said that in in our country that most cattle would mostly eat grass, its the American cattle that mainly eat non grass feed.

    Yes, the same goes for Irish lamb.

    As has been mentioned already, talk to your butcher about where their meat comes from. Most of them are delighted when somebody takes an interest, as are farmers, and are happy to provide the details of where the animals have come from.

    Furthermore, there's a difference between the likes of Connemara lamb and lamb just raised on field grass- the rack tends to be smaller but the taste is more intense and flavoursome. Best lamb I had was Connemara lamb.
