I'm not sure if I should post the link, but I'm wondering what people look for in a site where you buy bikes and other cycling gear online?

He's already up and running but eager to know what people think are important in buying cycling gear online and what would cause you to recommend a site to a friend who was serious about cycling?

Bit difficult to discuss the specific site without the link I know but I didn't want to post it without at least talking about it or being asked for it first.

Hi bcmf - as per mod instruction I won't link to the site here, but I'll send you a PM.

My mate is probably going to buy some advertising off boards anyway so you should hopefully see it soon enough, in the meantime anyone who wants a link feel free to PM me.

So, that being said, what would you like to see in a cycling site?

Stuff not made for racing. Nice gear, shiny gear. Really nice designs. Think VeloOrange and Nitto and Carradice bags and hammered mudguards. Porteur racks and leather laced cycling shoes.

We have wiggle, we have CRC, we have loads of other options for lightweight modern racey kit, I'd love to see something slower available.

    I'll get my jacket...

An enormous range of the best quality stuff delivered instantaeneously for free, unfortunately your buddy will need to make money so a balance of the requirements is needed.

Personally I love the idea of the best quality but I'm a sucker for a bargain once the stuff isn't total tat.

Thanks for the good feedback guys, I'll send it on to him... I know there's only so much you can do as a business and still make a profit, but I think it's good to see a business that's at least interested in what the customer wants instead of only what's good for the bottom line!

Personally I would like to be able to buy decent kit like Gore from an Irish supplier as well as other decent stuff but matching price from the UK etc maybe tough

I would like to see a place I can buy the above and parts and accessories for older bikes, like 8-speed freewheels, stems, headsets etc. It may not be easy to source manufacturers of these in the first place though.
