Was on a BA flight from LHR to DUB this morning and at the next gate was a plain white Lingus aircraft (looked like an A320) with a green stripe running tail to nose, white tail with a simple shamrock and the words "Aer Lingus Irish International" on the body.

Very impressive - is this a new livery or a tribute for something

This is EI-DVM. one of EI's newest A320's, in service since the 75th anniversary in March 2011. Big thread on it here

    Retro jet. Looks great.

If you are in LHR a lot keep an eye out for the Lufthansa and SAS equivalents.

There was a campaign for BA to put an A320 in BEA colours and an A380 in BOAC!

A reasonable number of airlines have painted an aircraft in an old livery to commemorate an anniversary or the end of an aircraft type as a fleet member.

European examples include Air France, Alitalia, SAS, Lufthansa, Austrian, Iberia, British Airways and of course Aer Lingus.

Wow, didn't realise there were so many retrojets out there... Loving the Air France one! Would be great to see them all together
