Possible Cork meet-up?

So it's been suggested on recent threads here that a meet-up in Cork would be a good idea, similar to the monthly one that happens in Dublin (seems only fair Cork should get one too ). Just wondering if there's anyone else here who'd be up for it? Might be a good way for those of us around Cork to get to know each other, and could be a bit of craic as well. If you're interested, maybe just leave a comment and we can start sorting out the dates etc!

Cheers for the replies, hopefully will get a few more as well over the next few days. Was thinking maybe provisionally the weekend after next if that suits people (as next week's the Jazz weekend so people might be busy etc)? Any thought on a venue? Anyone else interested in coming along, feel free to comment, the more the better

So how would people be fixed for next Friday evening sometime? Any idea's for location? If Friday doesn't suit, not a bother, we'll try and find a date to suit everyone!

OK, poll's up! I added the Friday after next in as an option as well, just in case there's someone who can't do either night next weekend. Anyone have any thoughts on a location as well?

I might be able to go. But it's a very big might 'cause I live out in the sticks.

EDIT: As for suggestions I'd suggest maybe the Franciscan Well? Laid back, big beer garden/smoking area, good choice of beer and cider.

Ok so the majority of votes are for this coming Friday (although by a fairly slim margin I'll admit), so how does that suit everyone? The Franciscian Well sounds like a good idea alright! How about anyone who's still interested and able to come on Friday leave their username below, and on Thursday, when we've an idea of numbers, I'll see can I reserve a table there. What time would suit people to start at, maybe around 7.30/8?

I can't guarantee I'll be there but I'll do my best. I'm not from Cork but I'm here for the year studying and it just so happens the Franciscian Well is one of the few places I know of. Would be nice to meet people as the only people I know here are my roomies.

Right so, I've booked a table in the Fransiscian Well tomorrow night for 8, tables booked under the name O'Sullivan if anyone needs to ask at the bar for it.

I'll be there a bit before eight, so hope to see you there, and that I'm not there on my own Anyone who hasn't replied yet and wants to come along, just head in tomorrow night, would be great to see you there!

I might turn up. I don't know if I'll go in dude mode or not seeing as I could take advantage of the halloween festivities to venture further than my apartment block door for the first time.

Can't make it tonight unfortunately. Which is a shame 'cause I always love going to the Fran Well! But if tonight's a success I'll try my best to make a future meet-up.

Hey so I was there by myself for around half an hour so decided to go get something to eat, as people were giving me dirty looks for holding a table to myself :-) will be back in around twenty minutes, f anyone gets there jst send me a message so I know where you are and I'll come back ASAP, one persons due to arrive at half nine and the poster above is coming as well so still have a bit of craic tonight hopefully!
