Bicycle Brake Light

    Pretty nifty, can imagine it confusing the hell out of people though. A guy in work got it fit yesterday, not sure how durable it is, but it's a great idea.

    I'd actually quite like that, if I ever get a sense that the person behind me is a bit close or not paying attention i'll generally do the hand signal for braking.

    a mate of mine 30+ years ago made a similiar sort of thing with his weimann centre pulls unfortunately considering you couldnt actually see the old ever ready lights anyway was a bit pointlless !

    I'd get one. How visible is it from directly behind him? It seems like it's a bit tucked away...

    That's a good idea - but would people realize its a brake light for a big, and not just a flashing light?

    We used to make our own when we were wee kids. Very simple, just needed a couple of small pieces of wire connected to the contacts of an ordinary back light and the other ends connected to the tip of the barrel adjuster and onto the cable so when the brakes were pulled the ends of the wires touched and closed the circuit.

    This did end up quite a problem for safety as you would want to see it in action by turning round while braking...not a great idea.
