Personally I dont think he is up to much he championed Barbers Shop for almost every race he ran in for about 2 years when he clearly didnt have a hope.

The whole tipsters thing is completely over rated, anyone who seriously follows the horses and attends race meetings should have as much knowledge. But having said that I like the way McClean backs up his fancies with some honest information.

He also opposed Kauto Star in nearly every race he ever ran in.

2 of those being imperial commander in the gold cup and the Charlie hall chase..
In fairness to donn he only tips in big races because that's what the media ask him to tip in. I'm not a big follower of tipsters given the quality of tipsters is thin on the ground but have to say I like listening to donn's angles on races

He often tends to overlook the obvious in pursuit of perceived "value". His opposition of Kauto Star time and again being a case in point. Sometimes the obvious is obvious.

This is true but nobody wants to hear someone tip up an odds on shot!
