Have a 2 year old petrol Passat from new, 25,000km. Last oil change in Feb.

Just had to top up 3/4 liter of oil, should I be concerned?

I have a 1.9TDI and it is supposed to burn up to a litre of oil in between services but not sure about the petrol engine. How many KM have you done since the service in Feb?

My father always said, I wouldn't begrudge a good engine a sup of oil. How many kilometers since February?

I'll need to check the invoice for mileage since last service. Long gone are the days of my 16 year old E34 that never drank a drop of oil.

Definately using the correct spec oil? VW's are notorious for burning oil if you don't put in the correct VW spec.

Hi op all new vag engines do this. I would recommend anyone owns 1 to check all fluid and oil levels at least once a week. I have a 2.0 Octavia vrs and uses oil just like the rest. Fsi, tfsi engines and so on
