Toshiba Satellite L850, enabling Battery Level warning?

My friend bought a Toshiba Satellite L850 and after using the laptop for a good few hours, she was keeping an eye on the battery icon on the bottom right

She thought it'd flash up with a warning, e.g BATTERY AT 15%, IF YOU WISH TO CONTINUE USING LAPTOP, PLUG IN CHARGER, but it didn't warn at all and at around 20%, the machine went to sleep.

She looked at the Power Options menu but just can't find out how to enable it to warn when the battery is low.

    Any help guys?

    what operating system?

    In win 7, it's
power options > edit plan settings> changed advance power settings.

At the bottom of the list there's "Battery", and options there for what the computer to do at various battery levels. And option to turn on notification.
