Hi I went for a an interview with a VEC on Monday. I felt it went okay but I haven't heard anything. The principal was on the panel and the job is immediate. In the past when successful Iv have received a phone call on the day of interview. Just wondering what people think?

They tend to tell in a day or two if you are successful but you never know , you could still get it. No set rules.

Thanks! I kind of thought that. Keep everything crossed I guess.

Lot's of red tape in the VEC interview process. I have sat on panels and the rules are strict.
    1. Panel interviews a number of candidates over a few days.
    2. Panel vote on a successful candidate.
    3. The chair of the panel fills out the recommendation and take it to the VEC.
    4. The VEC ratify the decision and write to the teacher.
In my case, the Principal called me in the meantime to let me know.

Thanks for letting me know. Would it be highly inappropriate to call the principal?

I'd give it until Monday afternoon and call then with the assumption that you have been unsuccessful and are interested in interview feedback. Shows you're enthusiastic. If the Principal doesn't give you a position, he may keep you in mind and call if anything comes up anywhere else in the VEC.

Well done but never heard of a second interview in the ETBs down here! You must be head to head with someone else!
