No budget 2014 increases in Motor Tax or Fuel excise duties

    So unlike the last few years, we don't have to have a ranting and raving thread about increases in motor tax and fuel duties and VRT.

    Ok I know tax rates are too high on the old system, but some doomsayers around here were predicting some co2 rates to rise by 30 %

    Be grateful for small mercies when they materialise lads and lassies.:eek:

    The thing is now that the some 2008 cars are looking like good value in the uk .They are starting to come into range even for the less well off.That said ,if more people do buy an 08 onwards car the government will loose out.So i would say by the next budget they will be on the warpath for a hike in the co2 tax rates.
