So I recently changed my car, got a quote, and received a letter in the post today from chill. I need to fill out a sheet and send it back to them before I can get my particulars. In one of the boxes it says I need 'original signed proof of no claims bonus.' Can someone tell me exactly what this is? I don't remember ever having to provide this before.

When you get your renewal notice in the post the insurer usually send you proof of no claims bonus. If not they send it at cancellation time. If you've lost it, which I suspect you have, you'll have to ring your previous insurer and ask for a duplicate. They'll probably charge you for it.

Thanks. I probably have it there somewhere. I'll have to search for it.

Are chill your current insurers or new insurers?!

Some companies (123.ie for one) send you out a renewal email, and your NCB certificate is at the bottom of that, print out, sign and send to new insurance company.

Current. I've been with them for a couple of years now. But I'm switching from Setanta to Kennco.
