    1) Anybody with experience of other countries ( Do-more etc ? ) , what are the differences with the age profile of motors over there. Here it seems to be a legacy of the 'scrappage' that everybody feels they have to change for a new car every 4-5 years or 'it'll fail the NCT' We've either got sub 10 year old stuff, with rare 10 - 20 year old stuff in daily use, then the 'vintage' tax lot at w/ends. In Sweden for example is there an even spread of cars about ( due to the relatively even tax system ) or do people still 'dump' anything over 10 years old

    2) Time for winter projects - Cortina Estate on R Rover running gear ??

don't know much about foreign scenes, but that sounds like a mental project, how would you even begin to approach it, cortina shell on a rr chassis or actually try to slice and dice the range rover bits to fit?

    what sort of cortina?

Average age of a car in Ireland is just over 8 years old and in germany it's 8.7 so not much in it really , I think in the USA it's 10 years .We are not much different to any other developed country really from any figures I've seen.
