Will wisdom teeth move/damage my new straight teeth?

I have an appointment with my orthodontist this week so I'll be asking his opinion then. Thing is, although he's really great at what he does he isn't very inviting of conversation and questions! So I like to have asked other people first to get an idea of the answer before I ask him!

My braces are due off in two months and I'm determined to do everything I can to keep them perfect! But the thing is I am 25 and I still have my wisdom teeth. I've only got 3 for some reason. 1 is partially uncovered but to me it doesn't seem to have much room to come up. It's been like that for a few years though and hasn't caused any pain. The other two are still not up.

I'm wondering, is it likely that they will move in the future and possibly cause damage to my teeth or move my teeth again? The last thing I want is my teeth moving after all this so should I be looking into getting them removed even though they don't cause any trouble really at the moment??

My sister had an awful experience getting hers removed so I'm really apprehensive about that :-(

    Thanks a million!

There is a good chance they could move in the future OP. Why didn't your dentist arrange for you to have them out before putting the braces in? That's what I had to do a few years back.

The jury is out on late lower incisor crowding and wisdom teeth. It happens to people who have them out as much as those that dont. Have them out for a number of good reasons but shifting your teeth is probably not one of them. IMHO
