Marathon Training, advice please

    Hey all,

A while back I very foolishly signed up for a half-marathon at the start of November. I went online and found a 24 week beginner marathon training plan and have been following it in order to prepare for the half. My thinking at the time was that I'd do half the program and that would be my prep covered and I could just stop after. However, I suffered a subsequent bout of insanity and went and registered for a full marathon that is in mid-February.

I'm wondering what I should do with the training plan now to best meet the demands of the February marathon. I'm at a point now where I'm no longer worried about being able to complete the half with my long run this week being 19.2k. Should I:

    a) start the plan again from scratch with the new D-day of mid-February
    b) see through the plan as currently is and jump back in again half-way through
    c) something else

Any and all advice is much appreciated from the wise heads that post around these parts!

Maybe take an easy week or two and then start the plan again at 12 weeks to go or find a new 12 week plan.

You should be able to start your long runs at 20k and increase from there after you complete the half.

If you go to runnersworld.com look up smart coach and that will create a plan for you based on race date, mileage per week, pace etc.

That's a handy tool on runnersworld.. Doesn't do anything fancy but saves time fiddling with spreadsheets!
