Hi I am working on a self build. I am curious to what is the best way to vent the bathroom
option A / through sofit by a flexi pipe from the bathroom ceiling out thorough the sofit or
Option B/ through the bathroom ceiling by a flexi pipe through the slate vents or a 100 mm hole in the gable .
The house is a story and a half with dormers also it is quite a long distance from the bathroom ceiling ie fan vent to the slate vent or house gable so it will involve lots of piping if option b is used .
    Many thanks in advance

Neither, go as straight up through he roof as you can, use solid/smooth instead of flexi and make sure the duct is fully insulated.

Bathroom extract fans are rated without any ducting attached. Attaching flexi ducting and running it horizontally can easily render the fan useless.

Where is the bathroom? if it is adjioning a external wall then take out through that and mount your fan on the wall. If it upstairs take ti straight up through teh attic and out a slate vent (liek teh other say insuate it if passign through the attic to prevent condensation

there are single heat recovery units which fit into a 6inch hole which you might like to investigate too
