    Hi all.
I've noticed a white residue on the wiper arms on the car. Is it possible to get rid of it/stop it happening?
    Car is 06 Toyota Yaris.
    Thanks

Is it actual residue or is the paint flaking off?

Paint seems to have flaked off. White residue I'm talking would remind you of rust, except white

That's a common problem on Toyota models made from 06 on. It's the aluminum corroding under the paint. It probably won't become an issue over the lifetime of the car(as in the wiper arm won't break)

It is unsightly though. The best thing to do is to take the arms off and sand off the corrosion, then key the rest off the arms with a mild sandpaper. Then prime both arms and spray them black.

If you don't fancy doing that you could just sand the effected areas and touch them up using a small brush with a small tin of black paint.
