    Predictions for the current thread.

Complaints about the increase in the price of fags in the budget and how its going to contribute to the black economy.

Dublin Fibergade (God bless them), will get an honourable mention around Halloween.

Festive Fiver Friday will raise its plugly head again. I reckon the 6th of December will be the date.

As Summertime arrives in Australia we can expect another wave of calls of disgust and outrage about the shocking antics of young Irish people there.

Somebody famous will snuff it and Joe will spend half the programme fawning over them. (The whole programme if a salt of the earth Dub pegs it).

A disaster of war will happen somewhere in the world and we will have some Irish person on the line talking about it because they are only 400 miles away from the scene.

And of course the usual mix of angst, ire, outrage, whining, cribbing, moaning and guff by John in Cork met with My God, Go on, Well Done.

Or if faced with a sensible caller, the audible heavy sigh followed by get a grip.

    So to speak.

anyone that caught the end of Mme. Finucanes show today was treated to a bizarre call in which a mother spoke about deaths in her extended family over a period of 7 years (hopefully RTE forwarded her contact details to the Drama Department)

Joe will be seriously pissed with MF for stepping on his turf.

I think anybody with the merest morsel of modesty or humility would be mortally embarrassed by such an ad. I certainly wasnt asked to contribute to the ad I can tell you that.. However, when I get my hands on a copy of it, I'll do my own "home truths" version and upload it to youtube.. :D

Heard the ad for the first time just there. Wow, a new level of self-congratulation has been reached by RTE.

I've told this story before but I have a friend who works in RTE who told me an allegedly true story about Emperor Duffy before and it goes a little something like this:

So Joe was being featured in the RTE Guy-id and the feature included a few pics of the great one on his throne in his office. The office was pretty much wall papered with "Thank You" cards - they were everywhere, on the shelves, on the window sill, on his majesty's desk etc. Obviously one would assume these were from salt a dee irths the length and breath of the country Liberties, but alas no..........they were all blank, the Emperor had purchased them himself for "decoration' for his photo "chute". Allegedly.

Could be just a bit of back-biting in RTE.....but knowing Joe, I believe it! ;)

    Today on Lahv Lahn.....

4 people shot in Dubalin a week after LOVE/HATE returns. Coincidence? I think not.

    Tomorrow on Lahv Lahn.....

Taxi drivers on tonight's taxi programme will be interviewed on all topics from de budget, to Nigerian taxi drivers, to the medical card to how sound Bertie was and how much better off the country would be if he was still in charge.

I don't expect a GP to agree with anything that will mean a reduction in their income.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Isn't it great that Joe's callers today consist of Valerie who lives in the UK and is therefore under the care of the NHS, and an Irish GP (Val) who's looking to protect his income.

Joe getting confused with Val and Valerie.

Why shouldn't the kids of middle class taxpayers get free GP visits? Stop feeding the Welfare trap.

Hardly a reduction in their income if they get a lump some per medical card holder on their lists, whereas if they don't have a card, the child's parent's will only pay when they visit.

Drop the bands = more patients = more income for the GP.

ive zero sympathy for whinging GP,s

their is a cap on the number of doctors which can open a clinic and this in turn keeps a floor under incomes , we have a serious shortage of GP,s in Ireland
