    Hi,

We have 2 large living room windows and want to fit curtains. However, we have been quoted in the region of 1500 for both including poles.

Can anyone recommend good places to go for reasonably priced fabric and a good curtain maker?

    We are in Blackrock, Dublin.

    Thanks.

    Hey dubsey,

id be able to tell you how reasonable the quote was or not as the case may be and offer you some suggestions if you could tell me what size the windows are and what fabric and type of pole did you get quoted on?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response.

The two windows (doorways) are each 2.66m x 1.73m.

The fabric we are looking at is something like the following with standard lining:

Poles wise we are looking at the antique brass effect.

    Any advice or assistance appreciated.

    D.

    Hi Dubsey,
Have you looked at the Ikea ready made curtain range yet ?
They have a good choice and they should be long enough for your windows. I believe they are 3 mtr, so you could hem them so that they'll fit perfectly.

    Any luck?

In a similar position, not looking for anything fancy but to save the hassle of getting people to do different bits went to a place today that will make and fit them and they wanted €700 for one window...which isn't that big !!

I would have thought €300-400 would have been the absolute max!!

Has the Celtic tiger pricing mentality returned or am I just out of touch with curtain pricing?!
