Gardaí at Burnfoot searching for Kieran McLaughlin, the man wanted by the PSNI for questioning about yesterday’s murder of Barry McCrory in Derry, have surrounded a house where the fugitive is thought to be holed up.

Happening right now in Muff , Co Donegal

I was getting diesel in the applegreen on the M1 and the garda aru vehicle was filling up beside me. I looked across at the young gard and he didn't look like a killer. If he is now, I hope he's alright. And that he did his job. Whatever that might have involved for the greater good.

No shots have been fired but Gardai continue to surround house (& shed) between Iskaheen & Burnfoot about 2 or 3 miles from Burnfoot village

Gardai telling reporters & photographers to leave scene immediately. Described as 'very twitchy'. Derry murder accused inside house since 5pm

Ambulance has arrived at scene outside Burnfoot. Did not have sirens activated. Derry murder accused still inside. Ambulance precautionary

one can only hope, that despite the despicable nature if these criminal gangs, the ambulance is not needed. We, as a society, are above these scum.

Don't know why the Loyalists bothered when the IRA in past and present guises have shown themselves to be the master butchers of the Catholic / Nationalist community.

Em I'm saying this has nothing to do with the Ira or whatever they call themselves.

The man is mentally ill and has been for a long time.

    So climb down please.

    What are you on about?

Even the psni have said they have been looking for him since Tuesday because he stabbed a random person, he is not well.

It has nothing to do with the Ira or whatever, these are facts but you're just ignoring them?

Facts have been provided by other posters, the only one without facts is yourself. Don't think "I heard he has been sick with a cold or something" is a fact.

There is one link I can find seems were quoting from the papers.

Does the psni coming out and saying it has nothing to do with the Ira and he is working alone not count as facts now?

What do you want them to do, just go running in to a house where a mentally unstable armed suspect accused of murdering a man in the middle of the day in Derry City centre is thought to be holed up? Since he was known to have used the premises in the past it was always going to be investigated. The police both sides of the border were still carrying out checkpoints during all of this too btw, I was stopped by the PSNI, who were carrying assault rifles. Plenty of Gardai around patrolling as well when I crossed the border.

Jesus the Gardai bashing in AH at times is sickening, you would swear done people would rather see members of the gardai get injured in times like these...

The man killed was not exactly an angel, he was one of the 4 men who drove a screw driver into my family friends skull, leaving him blind.
However I guess that no one deserves death, especially in close proximity to his girlfriend.
I am beside the border near bridge end and Muff, all last night police border checks and they had a helicopter up last night circling for a good few hours before refuel and returning.
