Is it betrayal to colour your hair? Style it? Paint your nails? Wear high heels? Wear fake tan? Put on some perfume?

Total BS. A lot of men love that look anyway.

She looks great and I wish I was as good at putting on make up as her.

Speaking as a man, I would prefer no make-up to too much make up.

In fact, on second glance, I don't believe for a second that there was no photo manipulation involved here.

That's fair enough, but what's "too much makeup"? Pretty subjective.

I wonder if some men who say they prefer women wearing not wearing makeup can actually tell when she's wearing subtle makeup. (Not taking a pop at you here MagicMarker, more in general.)

She's beautiful without it.. but the makeup just highlights what she already has..

It's not like she has drawn on some features that weren't already there..

As long as the woman feels good about herself who cares what men think

totally agree, she's a beautiful looking girl with or without makeup, and she's very talented at putting her slap on too :)

I believe this could be due to make-up and hair alone without photo manipulation. However, this is make-up and hair done by professionals. I think very few women would achieve this themselves.

This is professional done hair and make-up IMO

Its a pity she isn't smiling or even a little alive/animated looking. With that expression on her face it does look like a bit of a mask.

As for men liking less make up it may well be true but chances are it's the make up look that'll catch their eye on a night out and that will be the face theyre more likely to make an effort to get to know. They might grow to love the no make up face but in the other face will make the better initial first impression.

I think her "after" makeup is stunning. She has everything on, but it's not OTT and just enhances her natural prettiness (she's pretty before as well).

We wear clothes to flatter our figure, style our hair to make it look better..why not use makeup for the same. The trick is to know what looks good on you and enhance what you like and disguise what you don't, without going over the top.

To be honest, anyone can be transformed with cosmetics. And it doesn't have be done professionally either.

Those pictures are nothing special, just already pretty woman looking a bit different/better with cosmetics.

The Daily Mail had a similar article recently, but with a different person, see this thread.

Must be a slow time for news if they feature two articles quite similar in a small space of time.

He says there's post production used in the photos, so how are we to know how much difference the make up gives!

    Love the language: "Plain"
    "common"

    I'd have gone with 'normal'.

The after pics just look weird and fake to me tbh.

Some of those photos are heavily photoshopped.

Although I guess cover girls are usually photoshopped to hell so he still proves his point, but it just seems a tad meaningless to me.

Jeeeeeeez there's hope for all of us so.

Erm....so if one is better looking than any of these in the "before" photos, what would one be like after?! lol

I'm trying to put my finger on exactly what it is he deos. Common elements seem to be flawless complexion, natural tone enhancements and defined eyes.

Ha! They are very, very photoshopped. And the after pictures are taken in much better lighting. Still though, he's a great make-up artist!

And of course people can look way better with loads of make-up. I just don't understand how many girls can be bothered with putting on all that slap everyday, because a lot of them do!
