    Hi Everyone,

I know its super early but can anyone help me out on what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. I'm only asking now because tools/scanners etc are super expensive so would need to start saving. He's a mechanic and he has all the usual stuff (super giant toolbox).

I know he has a launch but is interested in geting a Dec Superscan for coding purposes but its a bit too costly for me :(

Was thinking of getting pads for his ramp and just wondering if there are any more cool gadgets/tools that I could get him?

Thanks a million for any ideas

If he's into cars how about a day in the Mondello Park Race School? Tools would be very specific and unfortunately you'd really need to ask him what he wants if that's the road you wanted to go down

Can't do this I'm afraid, was thinking of it last year and they won't let him do it for personal reasons

Think he has something that does those things already.

Thanks for all the help guys, I wish I listened to him when he was talking about tools he wants/needs and coding crap he wants

He has a 04 Golf and a Caddy van which needs the scrapheap but he won't fix it!

I'm really at a loss, I'm just gonna ask him loads of work questions and listen to what he says and hopefully I'll get some idea and can maybe ask ye guys if it's a good idea. I know it sounds horrible getting him work stuff for Christmas but he doesn't like clothes, reading, sports, computer games or anything else!!

Buy him some snickers trousers and a shirt (the trousers are about 70 alone) then get B-Design or somebody like that to embroider them

This is going to sound like a troll post but I know someone had it done for them. Get a very very very trusted female friend. Take 12 pics of you dressed up(or down.Ladies choice) with his car, spanners, etc and make them into a calender. This only works if he has a space only he will be in.

The person I know that had it done for them loved it. Money was tight at the time and it was cheap and personal.

Hahaha if only I looked nice in photos I would maybe consider this, but not really cause people are in and out of his garage all the time... Thankfully :D

What he said. Snickers do good overalls too. High quality stuff that'll last and look well. A few female friends always ogle the snickers catalogue.

Had a look at the Snickers website, yeah the overalls look alright

    Thanks again everyone

you cant beat the snickers. I lived in them over the summer with my summer job it was what we wore. they take some serious abuse and wash well. Dont forget to get the knee pad inserts the proper snickers ones. there worth every penny imo.

Why the assumption that he wants something to do with cars?

I spend all week in a bloody garage, the last thing I would want for a present is another tool. And I always remember my father saying that he gave up going down to the local pub because all every young boy racer wanted to talk about was cars, and after a weeks work he wanted to talk about anything but bloody cars.

Your boyfriend is a mechanic. Don't make his presents just another work thing.

He has told me before what all he wants are things to build up the garage, I know what you're saying and I would hate to get something for work as a present but I know for a fact he would love something like that

If I was him I wouldn't want tools. That kind of stuff I'd like to buy myself.

How's the lighting in the garage? Maybe something like this? Not the sexiest present ever but in my own experience you can't get enough light but usually just have a small hanging light, never enough.

Thanks those lights are class with the plugs, where could I get something like that? I know he has 1 light like that but it doesn't have plug sockets (are they really handy)
