hi all, I want to start up a arty&crafty business selling woolly slippers and jackets etc. I have been down with my local town council/business start up org. They want me to go and do some trail work i.e. go onto some markets and see how the gen public like/dislike my products.

I live in limerick so i know about our weekend market. Does anyone know of any another busy markets in the Munster region? Time, day and any contact info would be gratefully app.

I'd even travel to Dublin if the market was busy!

One last thing what do people know about these websites that let you build your own site, they any good?

I'm trying to do as much as i can at the mo:confused:

Have you checked out Etsy? Do a search of this forum - you'll find some great advice on how some people set up their online shop and tips/ideas.

Have you tried Roches St Saturday market? Both Mary I and UL have markets (they are quite small). In the case of Mary I, you should contact the student union as it is held in the forum. The suggestion re etsy is a good one and check out the etsy Ireland team, if you are interested. I think it is quite hard to get sales on etsy as it is dominated by US crafts people. This is my impression from a customer perspective. However, there is a shop local option which I use. There are some really beautiful craft products that are inspiring. This is from someone who has not one creative finger in her body but really appreciate the love that some put into their work. You should also approach the Hunt Museum Shop as they have a section devoted to Limerick craft, which is great. Ennis Town and Adare Heritage centre are worth targeting. I was in Adare last weekend and was quite surprised by the volume of tourist traffic and Irish products in the different shops. There are some pop up markets in Limerick in November, so keep an eye out for these. Anyway these are my suggestions for Limerick City. Best of luck with the venture :)

hi, thanks for the info I didn't know about Mary I, The UL one is more "foody" so we are going to miss that one. I agree with the etsy, but im relying on the Irish-US relationship to boost peoples awareness regards our products. Do you know any thing about contact details for the Adare Market? Regards the Adventure:-), well nothing ventured nothing gained I HOPE!!!!!!!!!!! :-) THANKS ;-)
